SBB commissions new signal box in Zwingen

SBB replaced the old signal box in the Zwingen station building (Laufental valley, Canton Basel-Landschaft) with a modern electronic interlocking remotely operated from the Olten control center. The roughly CHF 12.5 million project included a new railway-technology building, 25 new signals, eight renewed switch drives and about 20 km of new cabling. The new interlocking was commissioned at the end of April 2025, with dismantling of the old equipment scheduled for summer 2025.
