The silicon-carbide site is cutting about 12% of its roughly 1,700 jobs because of weaker chip demand; 170 jobs had already been cut in April 2025. According to Eurofound the planned expansion depends on state investment aid that has not yet been confirmed (Eurofound ERM, 20 May 2026).
