Event
The Babiš government supports the Motoristé and SPD proposal to enshrine the koruna as the currency in the constitution

A later euro adoption would need a 3/5 majority in both chambers, which the coalition does not hold on its own

According to Bloomberg, cited by Puls Biznesu, the government backed the initiative tabled in early October; the amendment needs 3/5 of deputies and 3/5 of senators present, more than the coalition has. Finance Minister Schillerová says it does not rule out the euro, but the government will not pursue it (Puls Biznesu citing Bloomberg, 26 Oct 2026).
