Official groundbreaking took place in September 2018, with completion scheduled for December 2027; the line runs through Järfälla Municipality and is intended to serve the new Barkarbystaden development (planned for up to 14,000 homes). Construction is ongoing, with tunnelling largely complete and station fit-out underway.
