FS Italiane completes EUR 150m takeover of Titagarh Firema unit in Caserta

FS Italiane, through its subsidiary FS Fabbrica Italiana Treni, has completed the acquisition of a business unit of Titagarh Firema worth EUR 150 million; it covers the plant in Caserta, current contracts and orders, and the staff. This lets the state railway group build its own trains for the first time and strengthens its industrial supply chain under the 2025–2029 strategic plan; Titagarh Firema was created in 2015 when India's largest train maker stepped in to rescue Firema Trasporti, then under special administration, and Invitalia holds a stake in the group.
