Investment
CZK 3.888 billion (EUR 161 million) construction cost, of which up to EUR 137.1 million CEF funding
Status
Under construction (two platforms to open in October 2026, completion by end of 2028)

In the rebuild of Prague's Smíchov station, the existing third platform and the new fourth platform are well advanced and are due to open in October 2026; canopies and waiting areas are currently being installed there, escalators are being fitted on the still unfinished pedestrian bridge to Radlice, and a technical building and new railway bridges towards the main station are also under construction. An early closure of one track between Smíchov and Radotín is meant to avoid longer disruption in the autumn because a sewer runs differently from the plans. Construction costs are CZK 3.888 billion (EUR 161 million), of which up to EUR 137.1 million comes from the EU's CEF facility, supplemented by an EIB loan and national funds; renovation of the station building is planned for 2028–2030. The date is a placeholder: the article names only the end of 2028 as the end of construction; progress report of 19 Aug 2026, the contractors are Metrostav TBR, OHLA ŽS, Elektrizace železnic Praha and Hochtief CZ (LOK Report, 19 Aug 2026).
