New LIPO Park football stadium opens in Schaffhausen

LIPO Park in the Herblingen industrial area (Canton of Schaffhausen) is the home ground of FC Schaffhausen, seating 8,222 spectators across four stands. Construction began on 28 August 2015; total investment including the surrounding development was around CHF 60 million, of which CHF 16 million was for the stadium itself. The first official match in the new stadium took place on 25 February 2017 (a 2:1 win over FC Winterthur before 7,727 spectators); since late 2021 FC Schaffhausen AG has been the majority owner.
