Austrian sugar, starch and fruit group AGRANA announced on 10 September 2026 that it will acquire Lower Austrian flavourings maker esarom (based in Oberrohrbach, second site in Rückersdorf) for an enterprise value of around EUR 150 million, equivalent to 9.0 times the agreed EBITDA. esarom generated revenue of about EUR 112 million in 2025 with just under 400 employees. The purchase agreement is to be signed shortly; completion is subject to antitrust clearance and expected at the start of the 2027/28 financial year (March 2027).
