By the end of 2022, Bane NOR had invested more than NOK 1 billion in upgrading the Gjøvik Line between Oslo and Gjøvik – the largest investment in the line since its electrification in 1963. The goal was an hourly base timetable between Oslo and Gjøvik (doubling frequency), achieved by lengthening passing/crossing loops (e.g. Monsrud to 1,165 m, plus Reinsvoll), rebuilding several stations (Jaren, Nittedal, Movatn, Hakadal, Gjøvik), and introducing the digital remote-controlled ERTMS signalling system on the Roa–Gjøvik section. The user-supplied source (banenor.no/Prosjekter/prosjekter-pa-gjovikbanen) is reachable but only lists currently ongoing/planned projects and no longer describes this now-completed project; the facts above come from a working replacement source instead.
