SBB builds new pedestrian underpass at Bern Wankdorf station

The project comprises demolition of the existing main passerelle and construction of a new pedestrian underpass (approx. 120 m long, 20.5 m wide) including a bicycle crossing and a bicycle basement (approx. 750 sqm), plus new platform facilities (approx. 1,050 m of new platform edges, approx. 5,600 sqm of platform roofing) at Bern Wankdorf station. Construction is carried out in roughly 90 stages while rail operations continue; per the project list, completion is planned by end of 2030.
