OMV secures €450m EIB loan for hydrogen plant in Bruck an der Leitha

The European Investment Bank has signed a loan of €450 mn for OMV's green hydrogen plant in Bruck an der Leitha — the largest single EIB financing in the Austrian energy sector. The plant, currently under construction with a 140 MW electrolyser, is set to produce up to 23,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year for the Schwechat refinery from the end of 2027 and to save up to 150,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.
