ÖBB is expanding the northern approach to Wiener Neustadt Hauptbahnhof from three to four tracks, raising the capacity of the junction of the Südbahn and the Pottendorfer Linie; the EUR 170 million project is due to be completed by 2029. At the end of March 2026 ÖBB lifted the first of two auxiliary bridges into place so that trains can keep running during construction of the new bridge over the Warme Fischa; the underpass there is due to be finished in January 2027. Further structures follow: the Pöckgasse underpass is being rebuilt and widened between August 2026 and May 2027, and the Kollonitschgasse and Fischauer Gasse bridges are to be extended or newly built by January and May 2027 respectively; there are also 1.2 km of retaining walls and new noise barriers. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only the year 2029. (LOK Report, 30 Mar 2026)
