Newrest dismisses up to 30 Nightjet staff in Zurich

Newrest, the ÖBB's contractor for ticket checks and service on Nightjet trains, is dismissing up to 30 employees at its Zurich site; the whole travelling staff of the Zurich Nightjet unit is affected. After the legally required consultation, the company is ready to agree measures resembling a social plan with the SEV union, including severance pay of 1.5 monthly salaries, a notice period for train staff extended by one month to 30 April 2026 and higher allowances in March and April.
