- The Railway Directorate (Jernbanedirektoratet) sets the service improvements for the combined regional and airport train offer that Vy will operate in Østlandet from December 2027
Vy takes over train services to Oslo Airport from Flytoget from December 2027; the plan provides more departures, a common ticket for all trains and, from Drammen to the airport, departures every ten minutes at a single fare that is cheaper than Flytoget charges today.
The Railway Directorate (Jernbanedirektoratet) has decided which improvements the combined regional and airport train offer is to bring; Vy will operate it in Østlandet from December 2027 and takes over train services to Oslo Airport from Flytoget. The plan provides more departures, a common ticket for all trains, boarding and alighting at all stations and, on Drammen–Oslo Lufthavn (about 26 million trips a year, the busiest rail line in the country), departures every ten minutes at a single fare cheaper than Flytoget charges today. Since the last major change in 2014, domestic rail trips have risen by about 30 per cent, from roughly 60 to more than 80 million a year; the next change follows in 2028. (LOK Report, 18 Feb 2026)
