On 13 July 2026 the first spade was turned at Cloche d'Or for the second stabling and maintenance centre of Luxembourg's tram network: preparatory works have begun, utility relocation (including a high-voltage line) and earthworks follow from the end of summer, shell construction is due to start in early 2027 and commissioning in 2030. On about 8 hectares, workshops (12,000 m²), a stabling building (10,000 m²) and offices (3,000 m²) are being built for 41 tram trains needed for the planned network extensions, up to the rapid tram to Esch-sur-Alzette. The EUR 152.4 million budget is met by the state with EUR 131.3 million and the City of Luxembourg with EUR 21.1 million; the Chamber of Deputies passed the financing law unanimously on 30 October 2025. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only the year 2030 for commissioning. (LOK Report, 20 Nov 2025 and 13 Jul 2026)
