Gama to close Ancarano plant for good, affecting all 27 jobs

Brake-pad maker Gama Srl formally notified the works council and unions on 15 July 2026 that it was opening a collective dismissal procedure covering all 27 employees and closing its Ancarano plant (province of Teramo) for good. Filctem Cgil Teramo and Ugl Ascoli Piceno criticise the company's unwillingness to negotiate and accuse it of having stopped investing in the site after acquiring it. At a staff meeting on 23 July 2026 employees confirmed the mandate to continue negotiations; the unions are demanding a reorganisation plan that safeguards production and jobs, and any headcount reduction on a strictly voluntary basis.
