Infrakraft to renew 66 km of Malmbanan track between Boden and Näsberg

Announced on 2 September 2026: Trafikverket has awarded Infrakraft the track renewal on stage 2 Boden–Näsberg of the Malmbanan's Boden–Harrträsk project (contract value just over SEK 495 million, about EUR 44 million); it is already the fourth Malmbanan renewal stage to go to the company. The scope is 66 km of new track, ballast reconditioning on 74 km of main track, new sleepers and work at several operating points; the main works run in calendar weeks 20 to 40 of 2027, and preparatory work starts after contract signing, which is possible only after the usual ten-day period. The date is a placeholder: the end of calendar week 40 of 2027 (10 October 2027) is used. (LOK Report, 2 Sep 2026)
