ÖBB unveils €100m maintenance depot in Vienna-Floridsdorf

ÖBB has built and presented a maintenance hall for its new double-deck fleet in Angerer Strasse in Vienna-Floridsdorf; on around 16,500 m² the new Cityjet and Railjet double-deck trains will be serviced and inspected. The site cost around EUR 100 million and around 150 staff are to work there; Vienna's deputy mayor for economic affairs, Novak, speaks of new high-quality jobs. The hall has eight tracks (seven for maintenance, one for heavy components) and an underfloor whole-train lifting system that raises a six-car train weighing up to 327 tonnes in about three and a half minutes.
