Serbia to renovate Novi Sad and Subotica station buildings by December

Infrastruktura železnice Srbije signed a contract with the contractors on 5 February 2026 covering design and execution of the renovation of the station buildings at Bačka Topola, Subotica and Novi Sad (wings A and D); the works are due to be finished in December 2026. The background is a review of the structures on the Novi Sad–Subotica line against the standards in force since April 2022, aligned with the Eurocode, which found that all structures need additional strengthening; afterwards the buildings, which are protected as cultural heritage, are to be usable by passengers.
