Prime Minister Andrej Babiš says on 19 May 2026 that the euro position will no longer be reviewed every year

The government does not want to adopt the euro and will revisit the topic only in the first quarter of 2030; the central bank expects a 2027 deficit of 3.1% of GDP

Finance Minister Alena Schillerová clarified that the ministry will keep producing the report, just not annually. The government disputes the central bank's forecast of a breach of the Maastricht deficit criterion (Echo24, 19 May 2026).
