The facility would remain managed directly by the Commission and an executive agency and would support completing the TEN-T networks, military mobility across them and cross-border renewable-energy cooperation; the report gives no budget figure.

The European Commission wants to continue the Connecting Europe Facility for transport and energy in 2028–2034, citing the successful delivery of the current programmes, again under direct management by the Commission and an executive agency. The aims are to complete the TEN-T networks, ease military mobility across them, promote cross-border cooperation on renewable energy and create synergies between transport and energy; no budget is mentioned. The proposal amends Regulation (EU) 2024/1679 and repeals Regulation (EU) 2021/1153, and was scheduled to be presented to the European Parliament on 5 Nov 2025. (LOK Report, 30 Oct 2025)
