On 1 September 2026 Swiss Life announced plans to cut around 600 jobs by end of 2028 (about 300 in Switzerland, the rest at Swiss Life Asset Managers abroad), mostly via natural attrition. CEO Matthias Aellig called it the insurer's first major job reduction since 2009, citing advancing digitalization even as H1 2026 profit rose 8% (Netzwoche/finews, 1–2 Sep 2026).
