Giga Storage reached financial close for the 700 MW / 2.8 GWh Green Turtle BESS — €450m in debt from a consortium of ten banks (incl. Rabobank, Santander, ING, ABN AMRO, Belfius), with equity from InfraVia. Construction starts September 2026, commissioning in 2028; one of Europe's largest battery storage projects, providing grid services to Elia. Announced on 10 Jul 2026 (financial close). The date is a placeholder: only the year 2028 is given for commissioning.
