Ricosta to close shoe factory in Vukovar, 111 jobs affected

According to the mayor of Vukovar, Ricosta Hrvatska will close its shoe production site in Vukovar by the end of March 2026, with 111 employees, mostly women, losing their jobs. He cites the higher statutory minimum wage in Croatia and falling sneaker sales; production moves to Romania and Bulgaria and the hall is up for sale.
