Czech Television to cut around 350 jobs by 2030

Czech public broadcaster Česká televize plans to shed about 12% of its roughly 2,900 staff, close to 350 posts, between this year and 2030; Director-General Hynek Chudárek gave the figure at the television council on 16.09.2026. The cuts respond to the government's planned switch from licence fees to funding from the state budget and a CZK 350m savings target for 2027; the budget for new programmes falls to CZK 2.2bn (E15/ČTK, 16.09.2026).
