Swissgrid expands Pradella–La Punt line to 380 kV

Swissgrid upgraded the roughly 50 km extra-high-voltage line between Pradella and La Punt in the Engadin (Canton of Graubünden) to carry two full 380 kV systems, since the pylons had previously carried a line on only one side. The upgraded line was commissioned on 11 November 2022, with total project costs including compensatory measures of CHF 120 million according to Swissgrid. As a compensatory measure, around 1,100 distribution pylons in the Engadin were also replaced by an underground 110 kV cable.
