- The federal government, ÖBB and ASFINAG present a mobility package for Vorarlberg with an investment volume of about EUR 1.085 billion up to 2031
ÖBB is investing EUR 80 million in 2026 and EUR 530 million in total up to 2030, ASFINAG about EUR 555 million up to 2031 (EUR 92 million in 2026, EUR 111 million in 2027); a combined EUR 172 million flows into the state's infrastructure projects in 2026.
The package bundles rail and road projects: the Container Cargo Terminal in Wolfurt is to reach 76% more capacity once fully expanded (454,000 tonnes a year), technical implementation of remote-controlled crane operation starts in 2026, and a third gantry crane has been ordered. In Bregenz Hafen, a platform extended to 220 m and an underpass with a lift are being built, and the new Feldkirch-Tosters stop is due to open from October 2026 as part of the renovation of the Feldkirch–Buchs line. For the double-track expansion at Klosterbogen near Bludenz, the end of the environmental impact assessment is expected in spring, with construction planned from the turn of the year; ASFINAG intends to reopen the Pfänder Tunnel after the renewal of its safety systems in October 2026 and to finish the Walgau-Süd rest area in March 2027.
