EU-US trade deal enters into application: EU removes tariffs on US industrial goods

Since 1 July 2026 the EU no longer levies tariffs on US industrial goods and grants improved market access for US agricultural and seafood products; in return, the 15% ceiling for EU exports to the US remains in place. Export-oriented EU sectors gain planning certainty, while critics point to the asymmetry of the deal.

Final approval by Parliament and Council in June 2026; the Commission can suspend the steel/aluminium concessions until the end of 2026 if the US does not follow suit.
