The MAZ School of Journalism in Lucerne has announced job cuts 'across the entire institution'. Reason: a discernible deficit due to declining course bookings caused by drops in advertising revenue and subscription revenue from publishers. Course bookings have to be planned at shorter notice or postponed, and sometimes cancelled entirely. Measures: streamlining structures to reduce fixed costs, 'increased cost scrutiny'. Organisational changes: the role of the programme director (CPO) is being adjusted; Reto Vogt (former head of Digital Media and AI Studies) is taking over from the departing Beat Rüdt.
