Sugar producer Eridania (wholly owned by Cristal Union) announced a new logistics centre at its Russi site on 16 September 2026: about 10,000 m² with a photovoltaic roof and rail siding, a €15m investment, completion in the first months of 2028. The centre replaces the Cervia platform and is meant to raise volumes by 20% within three years; according to CEO Alessio Bruschetta the overall investment programme totals €20m, with the remainder going into the sweeteners segment (Supply Chain Italy, 16 September 2026).
