ÖBB opens new S-Bahn stabling facility at Wien Floridsdorf

The new facility for stabling and servicing regional trains east of Wien Floridsdorf went live with the timetable change on 14 December 2025; it is tailored to the longer Cityjet double-deck trains (109 sets for Vienna and Lower Austria). ÖBB built it between October 2022 and autumn 2025 on existing railway land: about 3 km of usable track with overhead line and safety systems, cleaning and waste-disposal facilities, an operations building and a tunnel to the ÖBB-Produktion site. It belongs to the S-Bahn Wien Upgrade programme, and a maintenance hall for ÖBB Technische Services was planned on the site by spring 2026.
