HUBER+SUHNER to acquire Motion Applied's Connected Intelligence business

HUBER+SUHNER has signed an agreement to acquire the Connected Intelligence business of Motion Applied, a British provider of connectivity for mobile applications; completion depends on customary conditions and regulatory approvals. The Woking-based business, with about 45 employees, brings the Fleet Connect platform, which grew out of motorsport, and software know-how that fits HUBER+SUHNER's hardware range for rail communications (antennas, cable assemblies, switches, access points); the two have already worked together on projects with Deutsche Bahn, Amtrak, Network Rail and Avanti West Coast. The report gives no purchase price; after closing the business is to be carved out of Motion Applied and integrated into the transportation segment, and the date is the day of the report.
