Cembra Money Bank to acquire Santander Switzerland's car-finance business

Cembra Money Bank is acquiring the substantial part of Santander Consumer Finance Schweiz's Swiss vehicle financing business: a lending portfolio of around CHF 800m plus nine partner relationships with manufacturers and importers. Cembra also becomes Santander's exclusive Swiss partner for pan-European leasing and vehicle financing programmes. To part-fund the deal the bank placed up to 601,801 treasury shares (around 2% of share capital) via accelerated bookbuilding. Closing is scheduled for November 2026; the announcement came alongside half-year results (net income +6%).
