Giglio cuts 15 jobs and closes two stores in Palermo

Palermo-based listed luxury fashion house Giglio S.p.A. notified unions on 5 August 2026 that it was opening a collective dismissal procedure covering 15 of its 64 employees, and at the same time announced the closure of two stores, Giglio Piccolo and Giglio Accessori. The company blames a 'condizione involutiva aziendale' caused by falling sales volumes and changing consumption habits in the luxury segment. The statutory procedure runs 45 days at union level plus a further 30 days at institutional level and is due to conclude in October 2026; Filcams Cgil Palermo notes that a wage-supplement (FIS) procedure had already been opened around two months earlier at group logistics subsidiary Giglio.com.
