SPS Switzerland (a subsidiary of Swiss Post until 2021) is closing its Kriens site with 45 employees. A consultation procedure has been started. Reasons: strategic and efficiency-related aspects. Relocation of employees to Glattbrugg (ZH) is planned, which for many would mean an additional commute of around 2 hours/day. The staff association transfair is demanding financial compensation or crediting of travel time as working time. Collective bargaining agreement provisions provide for longer notice periods of up to 5 months.
