Particleboard maker Homanit Lietuva (a subsidiary of Germany's Homann Holzwerkstoffe) announced on 14 Aug 2026 that it would suspend production at its Pagiriai plant for 12-21 months, citing weak furniture-industry demand and sharply higher energy/material costs; originally around 200 layoffs were planned.
