Green Cargo to cut about 115 full-time posts in Sweden

Green Cargo is carrying out a cost-cutting programme in 2026 that costs about 115 full-time posts, mostly in administration while traffic-related production is affected less; staff at 18 locations are affected, and formal redundancy notices were issued on 13 January in the counties of Örebro, Stockholm, Skåne, Halland and Dalarna. In late October 2025 (report of 29 October) the company had already announced job cuts in Hallsberg, Gothenburg and Nässjö, mainly yard staff, citing falling volumes and growing losses; in the third quarter of 2025 net sales fell to SEK 911 million and the operating result was minus SEK 34 million. CEO Henrik Dahlin says costs must be brought into line with today's volumes, while the company expects rising demand, especially for defence-related freight. (LOK Report, 14 Jan 2026)
