On 2 June 2026 HŽ Infrastruktura and the contractor Pružne građevine signed a contract in Donja Stubica for the renewal of the local Hum-Lug–Gornja Stubica line (L202); it is worth EUR 13 million excluding VAT and is financed by a loan from the European Investment Bank, and a further EUR 3 million goes into four bridges and three culverts. Work on the track bed, drainage, stops and level crossings is due to begin in autumn and last two years, after which the maximum speed rises to 80 km/h; a possible second phase would cover station buildings, among other things. The line matters above all for school pupils and commuters, with 12 train pairs a day between Zabok and Gornja Stubica on weekdays. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only a start in autumn and a deadline of two years, so the end of autumn 2028 is assumed. (LOK Report, 8 Jun 2026)
