Event
From 1 April 2026 to 31 May 2026 the Lithuanian transport ministry and LTG Link grant a 50% discount on all journeys on local trains, as part of a state package against the fuel crisis

All ticket types and classes are included, the reduction is deducted automatically and statutory concessions can be used on top (example: a student pays EUR 6.70 instead of EUR 26.80 for Vilnius–Klaipėda); the report gives no cost for the measure.

Because of the fuel crisis that followed swings on the oil market, the Lithuanian transport ministry and operator LTG Link are halving prices for local train journeys from 1 April 2026 until 31 May; Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė sees it as concrete support for the public. The discount applies to single and season tickets in all classes, is applied automatically and can be combined with statutory concessions, though not with commercial discounts such as the group fare; a student pays EUR 6.70 instead of EUR 26.80 for Vilnius–Klaipėda. LTG Link carried about 5.9 million passengers in the previous year and is getting 15 new trains (9 electric, 6 battery), 6 of which are already in Lithuania for testing; the report gives no cost for the scheme.
