Dutch rail infrastructure manager ProRail launched the tender for renewed conservation of the old Moerdijk bridge over the Hollandsch Diep on 31 July 2026. The work consists mainly of cleaning, pre-treating and repainting the steel structures. The structure comprises six bridge sections: five steel double-track truss bridges with a low-level deck plus a short plate-girder bridge at the northern end. The scope was determined on the basis of several inspections; the indicative contract period runs from 21 January 2027 to the end of 2028. The adjacent high-speed line bridge and the road bridge (managed by Rijkswaterstaat) are outside the contract. No contract value was published; the report rests on a single trade source. Tender announced on 31 July 2026; date = end of the indicative contract period at the end of 2028 (placeholder 31 Dec).
