Sunrise plans to cut up to 190 jobs (around 7% of its workforce of 2,653 employees). The goal is to simplify the company structure (fewer hierarchical levels, larger management spans) and to increase efficiency; numerous managers are affected. A consultation process is under way, and the final figure will be decided after its conclusion (February/March). Apprentices and customer-service staff with direct customer contact are largely exempt; a social plan and support for those affected are planned. Update (5 February 2026): After the consultation, Sunrise is cutting 147 rather than up to 190 jobs, with notices following over the coming months. (cash.ch, 5 February 2026)
