Announced on 22 January 2026: Bane NOR has signed a NOK 460 million (EUR 40 million, excluding VAT and plus options) contract with Veidekke Bane to renew 46 km of track on five lines in Østlandet, including more than 75,000 new sleepers and about 90,000 tonnes of ballast. In the Romeriksporten 20,000 track metres are renewed in summer 2026, as part of a full renewal of the tunnel, in service for 27 years, by 2028 (drainage, rock protection, fire-extinguishing system, low-voltage systems, emergency lighting and signalling, preparations for replacing 11 switches) with a budget of NOK 800 million. The date is a placeholder: only the year 2028 is given for completing the tunnel renewal. (LOK Report, 22 Jan 2026)
