Neither NXP nor Ambarella has confirmed the talks, and a deal is explicitly not certain — other bidders could emerge or the discussions could fall through. Ambarella has a market value of around $3.3bn; its shares rose about 19% on the report while NXP's fell more than 3%. The automotive business is expected to account for roughly half of NXP's $15.1bn revenue this year.
