Acquisition of further on-site assets, upgrading of existing infrastructure and capacity expansion; Sicily is to be strengthened as a data hub between Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

At the launch of its roadshow in Carini (province of Palermo) on 23 September 2026, Mediterra DataCenters announced investments of more than €20 million by the end of 2026 in its PMO01 site — to acquire further on-site assets, upgrade the facility and expand capacity. The data centre joined Mediterra a few months earlier through the acquisition of Open Hub Med; the roadshow continues in Bologna and Rome (source: BlogSicilia, 23 September 2026; also Corriere Comunicazioni, 23 September 2026).
