EU ambassadors extend Russia oil price cap until 23 July — 21st sanctions package still blocked

The Russian oil price cap stays frozen at $44.10/barrel instead of automatically rising to about $58; the 21st sanctions package (energy, crypto, fisheries) failed again on 15 July, mainly over Greece's resistance to LNG trading restrictions.

Follow-up to the package blocked on 13 July: on the 15 July expiry date, ambassadors only agreed to extend the status quo until 23 July; package negotiations were postponed to the following week. Second source: Ukrinform.
