The A4 motorway between Kleinandelfingen and the Winterthur North junction is being widened to four directionally separated lanes with a hard shoulder over roughly 9.5 km, alongside a full renewal of the stretch. Construction began on 26 May 2025; a key structure is a new third Weinland bridge over the Thur river. Completion is planned for the end of 2028, at an estimated cost of around CHF 350 million.
