Diab shuts Šiauliai plant, cutting 75 of 76 jobs

Swedish structural-foam maker Diab (core materials for wind-turbine blades, boat hulls and aircraft parts) is shutting its plant in Šiauliai, Lithuania, and letting go 75 of its 76 employees; the company has operated there for more than two decades and moved into new premises in 2019, built with an EUR 8m investment. Terminations are to take effect between 31 December 2026 and the end of March 2027, and the Lithuanian Employment Service was notified on 13 July 2026. The company cites the elimination of work functions in a reorganisation; 2025 revenue fell 10.7% to EUR 10.8m with a net loss of EUR 1.7m (2024: EUR 1.6m profit).
