In the same 16 July 2026 decision, the Swedish government approved the Vidar offshore wind farm developed by Vattenfall with Norwegian partner Zephyr: up to 75 turbines on floating foundations with expected annual output of up to 7.8 TWh and a completion deadline of 2036. Vattenfall's project page puts installed capacity at around 2,000 MW in water depths of 100 to 330 m, with part of the electricity to be converted into hydrogen (roughly 205,000 tonnes a year). Vattenfall told SVT it currently sees no conditions for investing in Swedish offshore wind — so the permit is not yet an investment decision. Approved on 16 Jul 2026. The date is a placeholder: the permit sets a completion deadline of 2036; no construction schedule is known.
