DP World is to build a temperature-controlled logistics hub in the Port of Antwerp next to its Antwerp Gateway terminal; the initial investment is EUR 48 million, and further phases are meant to lift the total to around EUR 100 million in the long term. The facility is being developed with the logistics property specialist Montea and the Maatschappij Linkerscheldeoever (MLSO) on an 83,000 m² site; it is designed primarily for pharma and healthcare customers but will offer more than 55,000 m² of storage, about half of it for fresh produce such as bananas, and will also serve chemicals and technology customers. Construction is planned to start in the second quarter of 2027, subject to permits, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2028. (LOK Report, 6 Aug 2026)
