Italy approves €175m aid decree for hauliers, farmers and fishers

- On 22 Oct 2026 the Italian Council of Ministers adopts a decree providing €175m of aid for road haulage, agriculture and fishing
€105.2m for road haulage (an extra €45.2m diesel tax credit for March–August 2026 and €60m for spending from 1 Sept to 5 Oct), €60m of grants for agriculture and €10m for fishing
The government responds with a decree-law to pressure from the transport sector over high diesel prices: road haulage receives a total of €105.2m, agriculture €60m and fishing €10m as grants for 2026. According to Deputy Minister Rixi, the haulage tax credit thereby rises from €430m to about €480m (ANSA, 22 Oct 2026).
